Dixie was doing so many tricks in the show, she could have BEEN the show. Then, just over a year ago, she was diagnosed with IBD and put on medication along with a special diet. Several months later, she became very ill. She spent two weeks in the hospital receiving fluid therapy. She had extensive blood panels run, and we discovered she has severe food allergies. She also underwent abdominal surgery to take biopsies. Thankfully, her biopsies did not show evidence of neoplasia. Dixie must be closely monitored with veterinary examinations, blood work, and regular ultrasounds. 

Dixie receives monthly exams, vaccinations, year-round flea medication, and dentals as needed.
